3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

The task of masseur is massageing the client (mainly with hands, but also with feet, cups etc) in order to restore his/her physical and mental performance and prevent health disorders, as well as contributing to strenghtening the general resistance of the organism and achieving a state of well-being. The masseur prepares the workplace, creates contact with the client, collects anamnesis and performs the massage using correct and appropriate massage techniques and follows professional ethics. He/she advises and guides clients and in case of need recommends contacting a healthcare specialist.

- Reception and sending out the client;
- Introduction of massage services and products;
- Servicing clients
- Working with documents and database
- Documentation of the work;
- Organization of personal accounting;
- Knowledge of correct professional terminology;
- Client database management.
- Conducting the massage
- Preparations for the work (costume, hair, nails, hygiene; psychological readiness etc);
- Preparation of working environment and work equipment;
- Maintenance of the workplace;
- Collecting anamnesis and evaluating the client’s condition; preparing the client for massage;
- Planning of massage session;
- Performing the massage;
- Completing the massage.

6. OFFICIALLY RECOGNISED WAYS OF ACQUIRING THE CERTIFICATE

In order to obtain a occupational certificate, the applicant has to prove all his/her competencies required by the occupational standard and by the procedure for awarding of occupational qualification established by the body awarding the occupational qualification.
