Main Tasks of the Awarding Bodies

  • To develop in cooperation with the occupational qualifications committee the draft rules and procedure for the awarding of occupational qualifications and submit it to the occupational qualification council while applying for the right to award occupational qualifications.
  • To organise the development of the guidelines for the assessment of occupational competence, examination materials and other documents required for the awarding of occupational qualification.
  • To calculate and submit the amount of the fee related to the awarding of the occupational qualification and re-attestation of the occupational qualification to the occupational qualification council for approval, approving it with the occupational qualification committee in advance.
  • To announce the awarding of the occupational qualification.
  • To make information related to the awarding of an occupational qualification publicly available.
  • To check the validity of the application and documents of the person applying for the occupational qualification and to submit appropriate documents to the occupational qualification committee for passing a decision.
  • To issue the occupational qualification certificate or the duplicate thereof.
  • To ensure the protection of the information not subject to disclosure obtained in the process of awarding an occupational qualification.
  • To be responsible for the organisation of awarding occupational qualifications.
  • To submit at least once a year a report on the organisation of the awarding occupational qualifications to the occupational qualification council and the report regarding the use of funds related to the awarding of occupational qualifications.
  • To forward the data to be entered to the register of occupational qualifications to the Estonian Qualifications Authority.
